A 12-month study was conducted to collect and analyze published, unpublished, and raw data as well as ongoing research programs from 1974 to present, relative to the marine environment of the OCS and the Blake Plateau from Cape Hatteras, North Carolina to Cape Canaveral, Florida. The report is to be used to assess adequacy of the regional data base, and may be used in the design of environmental studies that the BLM will direct in an attempt to assess and predict the possible effects of oil and gas development on the marine life and environment.
