The House Committee on the Oversight and Government Reform has jurisdiction and oversight over the Federal civil service, municipal affairs of the District of Columbia, Federal paperwork reduction, Government management and accounting measures, holidays, overall economy, efficiency, and management of government operations and activities; national archives, population and demography (including the Census), postal service, public information and records, the relationship between the Federal, States, and local governments, and reorganization of the executive branch of the Government.
