- The President's news conference began at 5:52 p.m. at the Trump National Doral Miami golf resort. In his remarks, the President referred to U.S. Special Envoy for Peace Missions Steven C. Witkoff; Secretary of War Peter B. Hegseth; former President Raul Castro Ruz of Cuba; Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer; Iranian opposition leader Reza Pahlavi; and Asif Merchant, an operative of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who was convicted on Federal charges of murder for hire and attempting to commit an act of terrorism transcending national boundaries on March 6. He also referred to his son-in-law, U.S. Special Envoy for Peace Jared C. Kushner; and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization.
