 <title>Addressing the Deficit: Budgetary Implications of Selected GAO Work for Fiscal Year 1996</title>
</titleInfo>
As part of GAO&apos;s continuing effort to help Congress identify options to
reduce the deficit, this report, like its predecessor (GAO/OCG-94-3,
Mar. 11, 1994), focuses on the budgetary implications of various policy
changes and program reforms discussed in earlier GAO work but not yet
implemented or enacted. The options affect federal policies and programs
ranging from national defense to agriculture to health issues,
reflecting the breadth of GAO&apos;s work responsibilities. Of the 120
options presented in this report, 52 are updated and 68 are new. Most,
if not all, of the options have already been provided to interested
congressional staff.
