A retired member of the Coast Guard Reserve, due to administrative error, was paid less than the correct amount of reserve retired pay from his retirement in 1972 until the error was discovered in 1992. The Coast Guard then paid him the additional amount due for the 6 years prior to the discovery of the error. However, his claim for the amount which accrued before that 6-year period is barred by 31 U.S.C. sec. 3702(b), which allows payment only of claims which are presented within 6 years of accrual.
