Lewis & Harrison, on behalf of Arkema Inc., submitted a petition to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of 2-propenoic acid, methyl ester, polymer with ethene and 2,5-furandione on food or feed commodities.

This regulation establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of 2-propenoic acid, methyl ester, polymer with ethene and 2,5-furandione when used as an inert ingredient in a pesticide chemical formulation. Lewis & Harrison, on behalf of Arkema Inc., submitted a petition to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of 2-propenoic acid, methyl ester, polymer with ethene and 2,5-furandione on food or feed commodities.
This regulation is effective July 9, 2019. Objections and requests for hearings must be received on or before September 9, 2019, and must be filed in accordance with the instructions provided in 40 CFR part 178 (see also Unit I.C. of the SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION).
