This platform will enhance patient safety, care and comfort by reducing the need to physically connect sensors to essential monitoring equipment by cables and wires. This decision is the latest in a series of actions to expand the spectrum available for wireless medical use. Effective October 11, 2012, except for Sec. Sec. 95.1215(c), 95.1217(a)(3), 95.1223, and 95.1225, which contain information collection requirements that are not effective until approved by the Office of Management and Budget. The Commission will publish a document in the Federal Register announcing the effective dates for those amendments. The Director of the Federal Register will approve the incorporation by reference in Sec. 95.1223 concurrently with the published Office of Management and Budget approval of this section.
