    <abstract>The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is taking direct final action to revise one of the use conditions required for use of hydrofluoroolefin (HFO)-1234yf (2,3,3,3-tetrafluoroprop-1-ene), a substitute for ozone-depleting substances (ODSs) in the motor vehicle air conditioning end-use within the refrigeration and air conditioning sector, to be acceptable subject to use conditions under EPA's Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program. The revised use condition incorporates by reference a revised standard from SAE International.</abstract>

        <dates>This rule is effective on May 21, 2012 without further notice, unless EPA receives adverse comment or receives a request for a public hearing by April 23, 2012. If we receive adverse comment or a request for a public hearing, we will publish a timely withdrawal in the Federal Register informing the public that all or part of this rule will not take effect. The incorporation by reference of certain publications listed in the rule is approved by the Director of the Federal Register as of May 21, 2012.</dates>
