The Federal Banking Agencies (Board, FDIC, OCC, and OTS, collectively referred to as ``the Agencies'') are seeking comment on proposed changes to the examination data collected in support of the Shared National Credit Program (Program). The Agencies propose to standardize and expand the data collection to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Shared National Credit (SNC) examinations. By standardizing and expanding the collection of data, the Agencies will be able to use advanced credit risk analytics that will be beneficial to the reporting banks and the Agencies. The proposed changes are warranted based on the increasing sophistication of banks' risk management practices and the complexity of credit markets. Going forward, the Program also plans to take advantage of current information technologies. The Agencies plan to implement the changes beginning with the 2007 SNC examinations, employing data as of December 31, 2006.
