The Federal Election Commission seeks comments on the proposed regulations relating to new requirements for the reporting of electioneering communications and independent expenditures, monthly reporting by national political party committees and quarterly reporting by the principal campaign committees of candidates for the House of Representatives and Senate, as well as reporting related to building funds. These regulations would implement several requirements in the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 (``BCRA'') that significantly amend the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended (``FECA'' or ``the Act''). Please note that the Commission has not made a final decision on any of these proposals. Further information is contained in the Supplementary Information that follows.
