The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has received and requests public comment on a petition for rulemaking filed by the American National Standards Institute N43.10 Committee. The petition was docketed as PRM-36-1 on June 25, 1998. The petitioner requests that the NRC amend its radiation safety requirements for irradiators to allow the operation of panoramic irradiator facilities without continuous onsite attendance.
Submit comments by November 30, 1998. Comments received after this date will be considered if it is practical to do so, but assurance of consideration cannot be given except as to comments received on or before this date.
