  To extend authorization of the Reclamation States Emergency Drought 
       Relief Act of 1991. <<NOTE: Dec. 23, 2024 -  [H.R. 4385]>> 

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled, <<NOTE: Drought 
Preparedness Act.>> 
SECTION 1. <<NOTE: 43 USC 2201 note.>>  SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Drought Preparedness Act''.
SEC. 2. EXTENSION OF AUTHORIZATION.

    (a) Drought Program.--Section 104(c) of the Reclamation States 
Emergency Drought Relief Act of 1991 (43 U.S.C. 2214(c)) is amended by 
striking ``2022'' and inserting ``2028''.
    (b) Authorization of Appropriations.--Section 301 of the Reclamation 
States Emergency Drought Relief Act of 1991 (43 U.S.C. 2241) is amended 
by striking ``2022'' and inserting ``2028''.
