Director of the World Bank

    The President today announced his intention to nominate Jan Piercy 
as the U.S. Executive Director at the World Bank and Mi-

chael Marek as the Alternate U.S. Executive Director at the World Bank.
    ``I am pleased to nominate Jan Piercy and Michael Marek to the World 
Bank. I am confident their skilled leadership and first-hand experience 
with the global marketplace will be a tremendous asset in their new 
roles,'' the President said.
