Nomination for the United States Court of Appeals
May 24, 1994

    The President today nominated Judge Jose A. Cabranes to serve on the 
U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
    ``Judge Cabranes has an outstanding record of achievement in the 
legal profession, in academia, and in public service,'' the President 
said today. ``I am confident that he will continue to serve with 
excellence and distinction on the appellate bench.''
