Nomination of Randall Harvey Erben To Be an Assistant Secretary of 
Housing and Urban Development
August 24, 1992

    The President today announced his intention to nominate Randall 
Harvey Erben, of Texas, to be an Assistant Secretary of Housing and 
Urban Development for Community Planning and Development. He would 
succeed Skirma Anna Kondratas.
    Currently Mr. Erben serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary for 
Community Planning and Development at the Department of Housing and 
Urban Development. Prior to this, he served as director of the State of 
Texas Office of State-Federal Relations, 1989-91; assistant secretary of 
state for the State of Texas, 1987-89; and a member and shareholder with 
the law firm of Foster, Lewis, Langley, Gardner & Banack, Inc., 1981-87.
    Mr. Erben graduated from Princeton University (A.B., 1978) and the 
University of Texas School of Law (J.D., 1981). He was born August 23, 
1956, in San Antonio, TX. Mr. Erben is married and currently resides in 
Bethesda, MD.
