Appointment of Mrs. Potter Stewart as United States Representative on 
the Executive Board of the United Nations Children's Fund

June 18, 1992
    The President today announced his intention to appoint Mrs. Potter 
Stewart, of the District of Columbia, to be the Representative of the 
United States of America on the Executive Board of the United Nations 
Children's Fund. She would succeed Peter B. Teeley.
    Mrs. Stewart has served as a volunteer with many organizations 
involved in youth, human needs, and international affairs. Mrs. Stewart 
has also served as a researcher for Time magazine and Life magazine, 
1941-43.
    Mrs. Stewart was born June 3, 1919. She currently resides in 
Washington, DC.
