Statement by Deputy Press Secretary Smith on the President's Meeting 
With President George Vassiliou of Cyprus

March 30, 1992
    The President met today with President George Vassiliou of Cyprus. 
The two leaders discussed the current status of the United Nations-led 
effort to negotiate a fair and permanent settlement to the Cyprus 
dispute. The President pledged continued U.S. support for the U.N. 
process and discussed with President Vassiliou ways in which the parties 
might work to generate greater progress in the talks in the coming 
months.
