Appointment of Robert Anthony Snow as Deputy Assistant to the President 
for Media Affairs

March 19, 1992
    The President today announced the appointment of Robert Anthony Snow 
as Deputy Assistant to the President for Media Affairs.
    Since 1991, Mr. Snow has served as Deputy Assistant to the President 
for Communications and Director of Speechwriting. Prior to this, Mr. 
Snow served as editorial page editor of the Washington Times. The page 
received numerous local, regional, and national awards. Mr. Snow also 
served as deputy editorial page editor of the Detroit News, 1984-87; as 
editorial page editor of the Daily Press in Newport News, VA, 1982-84; 
and as an editorial writer for the Virginia Pilot, 1981-82. Mr. Snow 
began his journalism career as an editorial writer at the Greensboro 
Record in Greensboro, NC, in 1979.
    Mr. Snow graduated from Davidson College in Davidson, NC, in 1977, 
receiving a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy. He was born in Berea, 
KY. He and his wife, Jill Snow, live in Alexandria, VA.
