Ethiopia Under the Export-Import Bank Act

Memorandum for the Secretary of State

Subject: Determination under Section 2(b)(2) of the Export-Import Bank 
Act of 1945, as amended: Ethiopia

    Pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 2(b)(2)(C) of the 
Export-Import Bank Act of 1945, as amended (the Act), 12 U.S.C. 
635(b)(2)(C), I hereby determine that Ethiopia (designated ``Socialist 
Ethiopia'' in section 2(b)(2)(B)(ii) of the Act) has ceased to be a 
Marxist-Leninist country within the definition of such term in 
subparagraph (B)(i) of such section.
    You are directed to report this determination to the Congress and 
publish it in the Federal Register.
