Nomination of Constance Bastine Harriman To Be a Member of the Board of 
Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States
April 18, 1991

    The President today announced his intention to nominate Constance 
Bastine Harriman, of California, to be a member of the Board of 
Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States for a term 
expiring January 20, 1995. She would succeed Richard C. Houseworth.
    Since 1989 Ms. Harriman has served as Assistant Secretary for Fish, 
Wildlife, and Parks at the Department of the Interior. Prior to this she 
served as an associate with Steptoe & Johnson, 1987-1989. Ms. Harriman 
has also served as Associate Solicitor for Energy and Resources at the 
Department of the Interior, 1985-1987.
    Ms. Harriman graduated from Stanford University (B.A., 1970; M.A., 
1973) and the University of California at Los Angeles (J.D., 1980). She 
was born October 10, 1948, in Palo Alto, CA. She is married and resides 
in Bethesda, MD.
