<section id="d1073e88" identifier="/us/pl/118/97/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x8d14de00-e809-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t5/s101">5 USC 101 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">GAO Database Modernization Act of 2023</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d1073e103" identifier="/us/pl/118/97/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>RULES NO LONGER IN EFFECT.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y8d150511-e809-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/118/97/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content><ref href="/us/usc/t5/s801/a/1">Section 801(a)(1) of title 5, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following:<quotedContent><subparagraph class="indentUp0 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y8d155332-e809-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="D">“(D) </num><chapeau>For any rule submitted under subparagraph (A), if the Federal agency promulgating the rule, in whole or in part, revokes, suspends, replaces, amends, or otherwise makes the rule ineffective, or the rule is made ineffective for any other reason, the Federal agency shall submit to the Comptroller General a report containing—</chapeau><clause class="fontsize10" id="y8d155333-e809-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="i">“(i) </num><content>the title of the rule;</content></clause>
<clause class="fontsize10" id="y8d155334-e809-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="ii">“(ii) </num><content>the Federal Register citation for the rule, if any;</content></clause>
<clause class="fontsize10" id="y8d155335-e809-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="iii">“(iii) </num><content>the date on which rule was submitted to the Comptroller General; and</content></clause>
<clause class="fontsize10" id="y8d155336-e809-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="iv">“(iv) </num><content>a description of the provisions of the rule that are being revoked, suspended, replaced, amended, or otherwise made ineffective.”</content></clause>

<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y8d155337-e809-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/118/97/s2/b" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x8d155338-e809-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Effective date.</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x8d155339-e809-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t5/s801">5 USC 801 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><inline class="smallCaps">Sunset</inline>.—</heading><content>Effective on the date that is 6 years after the date of enactment of this Act, <ref href="/us/usc/t5/s801/a/1">section 801(a)(1) of title 5, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> subparagraph (D), as added by subsection (a).</content></subsection>
