<section id="d39089e88" identifier="/us/pl/118/167/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x8bdbd9eb-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t26/s1">26 USC 1 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Paperwork Burden Reduction Act</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d39089e103" identifier="/us/pl/118/167/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>ALTERNATIVE MANNER OF FURNISHING CERTAIN HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE STATEMENTS TO INDIVIDUALS.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y8bdc280c-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/118/167/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Reporting of Health Insurance Coverage</inline>.—</heading><content>Section 6055(c) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 <sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x8bdc280d-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t26/s6055">26 USC 6055</ref>.</p></sidenote><amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following new paragraph:<quotedContent><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y8bdc280e-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">“(3) </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x8bdc280f-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Records.</p></sidenote><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Alternative manner of furnishing statements</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>For purposes of this subsection, any person required to make a return under subsection (a) shall be treated as timely furnishing the written statement required under paragraph (1) if—</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y8bdc2810-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">“(A) </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x8bdc2811-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Notice.</p></sidenote><content>such person provides clear, conspicuous, and accessible notice (at such time and in such manner as the Secretary may provide) that any individual to whom a statement would otherwise be required to be furnished under paragraph (1) may request a copy of such statement, and</content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y8bdc2812-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">“(B) </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x8bdc2813-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Deadlines.</p></sidenote><chapeau>such person, on request of any such individual, furnishes a copy of such statement to such individual not later than the later of—</chapeau><clause class="fontsize10" id="y8bdc2814-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658126"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="i">“(i) </num><content>January 31 of the year following the calendar year for which the return under subsection (a) was required to be made, or</content></clause>
<clause class="fontsize10" id="y8bdc2815-e80f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658126"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="ii">“(ii) </num><content>30 days after the date of such request.”</content></clause>
