IMPORTANT NOTICE
CIVILIAN PRODUCTION ADMINISTRATION FIELD OFFICES CLOSE DECEMBER 31, 1945
The Civilian Production Administration (formerly War Production Board) field offices will be closed out on December 31, 1945. These field offices, during the days of the War Production Board and now Civilian Production Administration, have handled most of the day-to-day industry problems that required priorities assistance and they also maintained a supply of the necessary forms, orders, and regulations.
Today there remains one basic priority regulation, namely, Priority Regulation No. 28, which was issued to afford bottleneck-breaking assistance to industry during this reconversion period. This regulation is fairly well known to industry and provides an application form, CPA-541A, by which industry may seek assistance in the way of a preference rating.
On and after January 1,1946, these forms (CPA-541 A) will be available upon request from the Civilian Production Administration in Washington, D. C., Smaller War Plants’ field offices, or at any one of the post offices listed below. The superintendents of mails in these post offices will issue the CPA-541 A form upon request, but no service other than distribution will be provided by the post office.
No other CPA or WPB forms, orders, or regulations will be carried by the post offices or Smaller War Plants. Inquiries or requests concerning any other Jorm, order, or regulation must be directed to the Civilian Production Administration, Room 1501, Social Security Building, Washington 25, D. C.
