Financial Audit: Northeast-Midwest Congressional Coalition Financial
Statements for 1992 and 1991 (Letter Report, 11/08/93, GAO/AIMD-94-24).

GAO audited the financial statements of the Northeast-Midwest
Congressional Coalition for 1992 and 1991. Sponsored by Members of
Congress who pool their resources to pursue common legislative goals,
the coalition informs members about the regional implications of
upcoming legislation and attempts to influence congressional decisions
on issues of greatest importance to the northeastern and midwestern
states. GAO found that the financial statements were reliable in all
material respects; that internal controls reasonably ensured that
losses, noncompliance with laws and regulations, and misstatements
material to the financial statements would be prevented or detected; and
that there was no material noncompliance with laws and regulations.
