II. Background Under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35), the NRC recently submitted a request for renewal of an existing collection of information to OMB for review entitled, NRC Form 237, ``Request for Access Authorization.'' The NRC hereby informs potential respondents that an agency may not conduct or sponsor, and that a person is not required to respond to, a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number. The form number, if applicable: NRC Form 237. 5. How often the collection is required or requested: Required with every submission for access authorization, access to special nuclear material, or access to classified information. 6. Who will be required or asked to respond: NRC contractors, subcontractors, licensee employees, employees of other government agencies, and other individuals who are not NRC employees who require NRC access authorization. 7. The estimated number of annual responses: 922. 8. The estimated number of annual respondents: 77. 9. The estimated number of hours needed annually to comply with the information collection requirement or request: 184. 10. Abstract: A completed NRC Form 237 is required to obtain or renew access to special nuclear material (title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), paragraphs 11.15(a)(2) and (c)(1)) for classified information; (10 CFR 25.17(c) and 25.21(c)(1) and (2) for licensee personnel.)
