SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: On June 2, 2020 (85 FR 33527), the NRC

35 of title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations to specify when
inclusion of an individual's Social Security account number (SSN) is
necessary, include instructions for the partial redaction of SSNs,
where feasible, and provide a requirement that SSNs not be visible on
the outside of any package sent through the mail.
In the direct final rule, the NRC stated that if no significant
adverse comments were received, the direct final rule would become
effective on August 17, 2020. The NRC received two comments from the
public that supported the proposed changes to the regulations. Because
no significant adverse comments were received, the direct final rule
will become effective as scheduled.

    Dated July 17, 2020.
