Request for Comments on the Renewal of a Previously Approved 
Information Collection: Regulations for Making Excess or Surplus 
Federal Property Available to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, State 
Maritime Academies and Non-Profit Maritime Training Facilities

AGENCY: Maritime Administration, DOT.

ACTION: Notice and request for comments.

SUMMARY: The Maritime Administration (MARAD) invites public comments on 
our intention to request the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) 
approval to renew an information collection. The information to be 
collected will be used to determine compliance with applicable 
statutory requirements regarding surplus government property. We are 
required to publish this notice in the Federal Register by the 
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.

DATES: Comments must be submitted on or before April 30, 2019.

quality of the collected information. The agency will summarize and/or 
include your comments in the request for OMB's clearance of this 
information collection.

    Abstract: The Maritime Administration requires approved maritime 
training institutions seeking excess or surplus government property to 
provide a statement of need/justification prior to acquiring the 
property.
    Respondents: Maritime training institutions such as the U.S. 
Merchant Marine Academy, State Maritime Academies and non-profit 
maritime institutions.
    Affected Public: State, Local, or Tribal Government.
    Estimated Number of Respondents: 10.
    Estimated Number of Responses: 40.
    Estimated Hours per Response: 1 hour.
    Annual Estimated Total Annual Burden Hours: 40.
    Frequency of Response: Annually.
