Tornado Missile Protection

AGENCY: Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

ACTION: Draft regulatory issue summary; request for comment.

SUMMARY: The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is seeking public 
comment on a draft regulatory issue summary (RIS) that restates 
regulatory requirements and staff positions on protection from tornado 
missiles.

DATES: Submit comments by June 3, 2014. Comments received after this 
date will be considered if it is practical to do so, but the NRC is 
able to assure consideration only for comments received on or before 
this date.

II. Discussion

    The NRC issues RISs to communicate with stakeholders on a broad 
range of regulatory matters. This may include communicating and 
restating staff positions on regulatory matters.
    The NRC staff has developed draft RIS 201X-XX, ``Tornado Missile 
Protection,'' to restate regulatory requirements and staff positions on 
protection from tornado missiles. The draft RIS is available 
electronically under ADAMS Accession No. ML13094A421.
