GSA Bulletin FPMR H-79--Utilization and Disposal To: Heads of Federal agencies Subject: Reporting requirements for firearms 1. What is the purpose of this bulletin? This bulletin announces an additional reporting requirement for firearms. 2. When does this bulletin expire? This bulletin will remain in effect until specifically cancelled. 3. What is the background? The Federal Property Management Regulations (FPMR) were amended at 41 CFR 101-43.4801(c) to add new reporting requirements for firearms. On July 23, 1999, GSA Bulletin FPMR H-75 was issued, requiring that each firearm be reported as a single item per report to include serial number, make, and model. 4. What must I do as a result of this bulletin? When reporting firearms to GSA, your report must identify each firearm that was acquired through abandonment or forfeiture. 5.
