ACTION: Notice of public meeting. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: The Advisory Committee to the U.S. Section to the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) announces an August 1999 workshop on ICCAT minimum sizes. More information on the August workshop can be found in the DATES and SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION sections of this notice. DATES: The Advisory Committee minimum size workshop will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on August 24, 1999, and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on August 25, 1999. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The August workshop of the Advisory Committee will examine the efficacy of minimum sizes as conservation and management measures for ICCAT species. It will provide a forum to critically review the application of minimum sizes to ICCAT species, including a discussion of possible alternative management measures and other issues as deemed appropriate. The first day of the meeting is expected to be composed of presentations by invited speakers. Committee discussions will take place on the second day. There will be no opportunity for public comment at this workshop. The public is reminded that NMFS expects members of the public to conduct themselves appropriately for the duration of the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, an appropriate representative will explain the ground rules. Attendees are expected to respect these rules, and if they do not, they will be asked to leave the meeting.
