Purpose(s): The system will be used to record the weight and physical readiness of military members assigned to DLA. It will also be used to monitor the progress of those entered into the weight management program. Records may be used by member's service for remedial, corrective, or administrative separation actions. Routine uses of records maintained in the system, including categories of users and the purposes of such uses: In addition to those disclosures generally permitted under 5 U.S.C. 552a(b) of the Privacy Act, these records or information contained therein may specifically be disclosed outside the DoD as a routine use pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552a(b)(3) as follows: None. Policies and practices for storing, retrieving, accessing, retaining, and disposing of records: Storage: Records are stored in paper and computerized form. Retrievability: Records are retrieved by name. Safeguards: Records are maintained in areas accessible only to DLA personnel who must access the records to perform their duties. The computer files are password protected with access restricted to authorized users. Access to paper and computerized files is restricted to member's commander, the weight control officer, medical personnel, the director of the military personnel function at the activity where assigned, and the military personnel function of the member's service. Retention and disposal: Records are retained until the member departs, at which time the member collects the record for forwarding to his or her next duty assignment.
