DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
[AAG/A Order No. 164-99]
Privacy Act of 1974; Notice of the Removal of a System of Records
Pursuant to the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C.
552a), the Security and Emergency Planning Staff, Justice Management
Division, Department of Justice, is removing a published Privacy Act
system of records entitled, ``Document Information System (DIS),
Justice/JMD 010.'' Justice/JMD 010 was last published in the Federal
Register on December 11, 1987 (52 FR 47270).
The DIS no longer exists as a system of records. The system was
eliminated prior to 1990. The system was no longer required because
classification authority designations are now made by position rather
than individuals. All records associated with this system have been
destroyed. Therefore, the DIS is removed from the Department's
compilation of Privacy Act systems.
Dated: May 5, 1999.
Stephen R. Colgate,
Assistant Attorney General for Administration.
