Pacific Fishery Management Council; Public Meeting

AGENCY: National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Oceanic and 
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Commerce.

ACTION: Notice of public meeting.

SUMMARY: The Pacific Fishery Management Council's (Council) Ad-Hoc 
Allocation Committee and Strategic Planning Advisory Committee will 
hold meetings which are open to the public.

DATES: The meetings will begin on Wednesday, June 2 at 8 a.m. and will 
continue through Wednesday, June 3 as necessary.

ADDRESSES: The meetings will be held at the Doubletree Hotel - Downtown 
Portland, Astoria Room, 310 SW Lincoln Avenue, Portland, OR.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The purpose of the Ad-Hoc Allocation 
Committee meeting is to develop preliminary options for allocations 
involved in rebuilding plans for lingcod and bocaccio rockfish. The Ad-
Hoc Allocation Committee will discuss allocations of lingcod and 
bocaccio rockfish between the recreational and commercial fisheries and 
between gear sectors of the limited entry fleet. The Ad-Hoc Allocation 
Committee will begin work on a report to present to the Council at its 
June meeting. After the allocation work is complete, the Strategic 
Planning Advisory Committee will review a draft request for proposals 
for an external facilitator to assist the Council in long-term 
strategic planning for groundfish management.
    Although other issues not contained in this agenda may come before 
this group for discussion, in accordance with the Magnuson-Stevens 
Fishery Conservation and Management Act, those issues may not be the 
subject of formal discussion during this meeting. Action will be 
restricted to those issues specifically identified in this notice.
