Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Proposed Southpoint
Power Plant, Fort Mojave Indian Reservation, Mojave County, AZ
AGENCY: Bureau of Indian Affairs, Interior.
ACTION: Notice of amendment to dates for public comment.

SUMMARY: On January 15, 1999, the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA)
published in the Federal Register (64 FR 2657) a Notice of
Availability, with public comment dates, for the Final Environmental
Impact Statement (FEIS) for the proposed Southpoint Power Plant, Fort
Mojave Indian Reservation, Mojave County, Arizona. The BIA now wishes
to amend its public comment dates for this FEIS, to make them
consistent with the comment period for the Notice of Availability for
this same FEIS published by the Environmental Protection Agency in the
January 22, 1999, Federal Register (64 FR 3510).
DATES: Written comments will be accepted through February 23, 1999. The
Record of Decision will be issued on or after February 26, 1999.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: This notice is published pursuant to Section
1503.1 of the Council on Environmental Quality Regulations (40 CFR
parts 1500 through 1508) implementing the procedural requirements of
the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended (42 U.S.C.
4321 et seq.), and the Department of Interior Manual (516 DM 1-6), and
is in the exercise of authority delegated to the Assistant Secretary--
Indian Affairs by 209 DM 8.
