Certain Refrigeration Compressors From the Republic of Singapore: 
Extension of Time Limit for Final Results of Countervailing Duty 
Administrative Review

AGENCY: Import Administration/International Trade Administration/
Department of Commerce.

ACTION: Notice of extension of time limit for final results of 
countervailing duty administrative review.

SUMMARY: The Department of Commerce (``the Department'') is extending 
the time limit for the final results of the thirteenth administrative 
review of the agreement suspending the countervailing duty 
investigation of certain refrigeration compressors from the Republic of 
Singapore. This review covers the period April 1, 1995 through March 
31, 1996.

EFFECTIVE DATE: April 9, 1998.

Applicable Statute and Regulations

    Unless otherwise indicated, all citations to the Tariff Act of 
1930, as amended (``the Act''), are references to the provisions 
effective January 1, 1995, the effective date of the amendments made to 
the Act by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act (``URAA''). In addition, 
unless otherwise indicated, all citations to the Department's 
regulations are to the regulations set forth at 19 CFR part 355 (April 
1997).

Postponement of Final Results

    Under the Act, the Department may extend the deadline for 
completion of an administrative review if it determines that it is not 
practicable to complete the review within the statutory time limit of 
365 days. On December 9, 1997, the Department of Commerce published in 
the Federal Register (62 FR 64806) the preliminary results of its 
administrative review of the agreement suspending the countervailing 
duty investigation on certain refrigeration compressors from the 
Republic of Singapore. Because of the complexity of certain issues in 
this case, it is not practicable to complete this review within the 
time limits mandated by section 751 (a)(3)(A) of the Act. Therefore, 
the Department is extending the time limit for completion of the 
aforementioned review to June 8, 1998.
    This extension of time limits is in accordance with section 751 
(a)(3)(A) of the Act.
