CNG Transmission Corporation; Notice of Section 4 Filing

September 8, 1997.
    Take notice that on September 2, 1997, CNG Transmission Corporation 
(CNG) tendered for filing pursuant to Section 4 of the Natural Gas Act, 
a notice of termination of service on specified lines in Crook 
District, Boone County, West Virginia.
    CNG states that it will abandon the lines by sale to Eastern 
American Energy Corporation and Classic Oil & Gas Resources, Inc. CNG 
further states that no contract for transportation service with CNG 
will be canceled or terminated as a result of the proposed abandonment 
of service.
    Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should 
file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy 
Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C., 20426, 
in accordance with Rules 211 and 214 of the Commission's Rules of 
Practice and Procedure. All such motions or protests should be filed on 
or before September 15, 1997. Protests will be considered by the 
Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will 
not serve to make protestants parties to the proceeding. Any person 
wishing to become a party must file a motion to intervene. Copies of 
this filing are on file with the Commission and are available for 
public inspection.
