VA Innovations in Nursing Advisory Committee; Notice of Meeting

    As required by Section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee 
Act, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) hereby gives notice that 
the third meeting of the VA Innovations in Nursing Advisory Committee 
will be held April 8-9, 1997, at VA Headquarters, 810 Vermont Avenue 
NW, Washington, DC. The April 8, 1997, session will be held in room 230 
and convene at 9:00 a.m. and adjourn at 5:00 p.m. The April 9, 1997, 
session will be held in room 830 and convene at 8:00 a.m. and adjourn 
at 3:00 p.m.
    The purpose of the Committee is to present recommendations to the 
Under Secretary for Health on how VA can generally promote and support 
health care innovations in which nurses play key leadership and 
clinical roles and which promote VA's reengineering efforts.

    On April 8, the Committee will hear presentations on current 
innovative healthcare practices from representatives of private 
healthcare systems, VA network directors and VA medical center 
administrators. A public comment period is scheduled from 4:15-4:45 
p.m. EDT.
    On April 9, the Committee will hear presentations on VA eligibility 
reform, employee education and product line management. A public 
comment period is scheduled from 1:30-2:00 p.m. EDT.
    The meeting is open to the public. Those who plan to attend or who
