Proposed Implementation Requirements for Reduction of Sulfur
Oxide (Sulfur Dioxide) Emissions
AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
ACTION: Reopening of public comment period.

SUMMARY: The EPA is announcing the reopening of the public comment
period on the proposed implementation requirements to address short-
term peak concentrations of sulfur dioxide (SO2)--also known as
the Intervention Level Program--that were published on January 2, 1997
(62 FR 210).
DATES: Written comments on this proposal must be received on or before
April 11, 1997.

preferred) to: Office of Air and Radiation Docket and Information
Center (Air Docket 6102), Room M 1500, U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency, Attention: Docket No. A-94-55, 401 M Street, S.W., Washington,

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: To allow sufficient time to review the
proposed implementation requirements for reducing short-term
concentrations of SO2 (40 CFR part 51) before submitting comments,
the EPA is reopening the public comment period on this proposal from
March 3, 1997 to April 11, 1997.
