Chapter 35). Agency: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Title: Southwest Region Permit Family of Forms. Form Number(s): None prescribed. OMB Approval Number: 0648-0204. Type of Request: Revision of a currently approved collection. Burden: 65 hours. Number of Respondents: 95. Avg Hours Per Response: Ranges between 30 minutes and 2 hours depending on the requirement. Needs and Uses: Permits are required for persons to participate in Federally-managed fisheries in the Western Pacific Region. The permit applications forms provide basic information about permit holders and the vessels and gear being used. This information is important to understand the nature of the fisheries, entry and exit patterns, and the extent to which fishing is likely to effect the stocks and businesses related to the fishery. Permitting actions provide an important link to the participants so that the National Marine Fisheries Service officials can explain the regulations that apply to the fishery as well as emphasize the importance of complying with the regulations and reporting requirements. This collection covers three types of permits--basic permits, limited entry permits and experimental permits. Affected Public: Businesses or other for-profit organizations, individuals or households. Frequency: Annually, on occasion, variable. Respondent's Obligation: Mandatory. OMB Desk Officer: Adele Morris, (202) 395-7340.
