Jersey Central Power & Light Company; Metropolitan Edison Company; Pennsylvania Electric Company [Docket No. ER97-628-000] Take notice that on November 26, 1996, GPU Service, Inc. (GPU), on behalf of Jersey Central Power & Light Company, Metropolitan Edison Company and Pennsylvania Electric Company (jointly referred to as GPU Energy), filed Service Agreements between GPU and Atlantic Electric, Delmarva Power & Light Company, Heartland Energy Services, Inc., New England Power Company, and The Power Company of America, LP. (Transmission Customers). These Service Agreements specify that the Transmission Customers have agreed to the rates, terms and conditions of the GPU Companies' open access transmission tariff filed on July 9, 1996 in Docket No. OA96-114-000. Jersey Central Power & Light Company; Metropolitan Edison Company; Pennsylvania Electric Company [Docket No. ER97-630-000] Take notice that on November 27, 1996, GPU Service, Inc. (GPU), on behalf of Jersey Central Power & Light Company, Metropolitan Edison Company and Pennsylvania Electric Company (GPU Energy), filed an executed Service Agreement between GPU and Equitable Power Services Company (EPSC), dated November 25, 1996. This Service Agreement specifies that EPSC has agreed to the rates, terms and conditions of GPU Energy's Operating Capacity and/or Energy Sales Tariff (Sales Tariff) designated as FERC Electric Tariff, Original Volume No. 1. The Sales Tariff was accepted by the Commission by letter order issued on February 1, 1995 in Jersey Central Power & Light Co., Metropolitan Edison Co. and Pennsylvania Electric Co., Docket No. ER95-276-000 and allows GPU and EPSC to enter into separately scheduled transactions under which GPU Energy will make available for sale, surplus operating capacity and/or energy at negotiated rates that are no higher than GPU Energy's cost of service. GPU requests a waiver of the Commission's notice requirements for good cause shown and an effective date of November 25, 1996 for the Service Agreement.
