Extension of Time for Inventory

ACTION: Notice

    The Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) 
requires museums and

Federal agencies to complete inventories of all Native American human 
remains and associated funerary objects in their collections by 
November 16, 1995. Section 5(c) of the statute authorizes the Secretary 
to extend the inventory time requirements for museums that have made 
good faith efforts to complete their inventories by the statuary 
deadline.
