[Federal Register Volume 61, Number 133 (Wednesday, July 10, 1996)] [Notices] [Pages 36361-36362] From the Federal Register Online via the Government Publishing Office [www.gpo.gov] [FR Doc No: 96-17506] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY [Docket No. RP96-290-000] Michigan Gas Storage Company; Notice of Proposed Changes in FERC Gas Tariff July 3, 1996. Take notice that on June 28, 1996, Michigan Gas Storage Company (MGS) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, Volume No. 1, the following tariff sheets, to become effective August 1, 1996: the title page and Sheet Nos. 1 through 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 33, 34, 35, 41, 52, 56 through 64, 67, 68, 70, and 71. The proposed changes would increase revenues from jurisdictional service by approximately $5.5 million based on the 12-month period ending March 31, 1996, as adjusted. Various other tariff sheet changes are also included, notably adding an ACA clause and changes in nomination procedures. MGS states that the filed tariff sheets implement a general cost of service increase from that approved by the Commission in MGS' last rate filing (RP93-159-000). MGS states that the reasons for the filing are to avoid a revenue deficiency caused by increasing operating and maintenance expenses (including the amortization of certain environmental cleanup costs), to include in cost of service the costs of additional pipeline facilities that are to be constructed by MGS and in service by the end of the test period, and to satisfy a filing requirement included in the settlement of its previous rate case. [[Page 36362]] Copies of the filing were served upon MGS's jurisdictional customers and the Michigan Public Service Commission. Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE., Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Sections 385.214 and 385.211 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such motions or protests must be filed as provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to the proceeding. Any person wishing to become a party must file a motion to intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
