SUMMARY: The Department of Transportation (DOT) announces a meeting of the DOT Partnership Council (the Council). Notice of this meeting is required under the Federal Advisory Committee Act. TIME AND PLACE: The Council will meet on February 14, 1996, at 9 a.m., at the Department of Transportation, Nassif Building, room 10,234- 10,238, 400 Seventh Street, SW, Washington, DC 20590. The room is located on the 10th floor. TYPE OF MEETING: These meetings will be open to the public. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The purpose of this meeting is to brief the Council on recommendations and implementation plans for career transition efforts at DOT consistent with the President's directive. In partnership with labor, DOT is establishing a career transition program to provide assistance to displaced and surplus employees. The Council will review and discuss career transition plans as well as provide recommendations for implementation to the Secretary. Public Participation We invite interested persons and organizations to submit comments on the principles and features that should be embodied in DOT career transition plans. We are especially interested in suggestions and ideas that ensure a successful career transition program for all DOT employees.
