Announcement of Funding Awards for Fiscal Year 94 for Rental
Voucher Program and Rental Certificate Program

SUMMARY: In accordance with section 102(a)(4)(C) of the Department of
Housing and Urban Development Reform Act of 1989, this document
notifies the public of funding awards for Fiscal Year (FY) 94 to
housing agencies under the Section 8 rental voucher and rental
certificate programs. The purpose of this Notice is to publish the
names and addresses of the award winners and the amount of the awards
made available by HUD to provide rental assistance to very low-income
families.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The regulations governing the Rental
Certificate and the Rental Voucher Programs are published at 24 CFR
parts 882 and 887, respectively. The regulations for allocating housing
assistance budget authority under section 213(d) of the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974 are published at 24 CFR part 791,
subpart D.
The purpose of the rental voucher and rental certificate programs
is to assist eligible families to pay the rent for decent, safe, and
sanitary housing. The FY 94 awards announced in this notice were
selected for funding in a competition announced in a Federal Register
notice published on July 11, 1994 (59 FR 35426). Applications were
scored and selected for funding on the basis of selection criteria
contained in that notice.
A total of $593,120,690 of budget authority for rental vouchers
(16,197 units) was awarded to 396 recipients, and a total of
$332,898,650 of budget authority for rental certificates (9,159 units)
was awarded to 399 recipients. In accordance with section 102(a)(4)(C)
of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Reform Act of 1989
(Pub. L. 101-235, approved December 15, 1989), the Department is
publishing the names, addresses, and amounts of those awards as shown
on Appendix A for rental vouchers and Appendix B for rental
certificates.
