Announcement of Public Hearing and Notice of Availability of the 
Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for Land Use and 
Development Plan, Bellows Air Force Station, Waimanalo, HI

AGENCY: U.S. Pacific Command, DOD.

ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: The U.S. Pacific Command (USCINCPAC) is announcing the 
availability of the DEIS for a Land Use and Development Plan at Bellows 
Air Force Station (AFS), Waimanalo, Hawaii. A public hearing on the 
DEIS will be held on May 9, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. at the Waimanalo 
Elementary and Intermediate School Cafeteria, 41-1330 Kalanianaole 
Highway, Waimanalo, Hawaii.
    The Public hearing will be conducted by the Navy on behalf of 
USCINCPAC. Government agencies and interested parties are invited and 
urged to be present or represented at the hearing. Oral statements will 
be heard and transcribed by a stenographer. To assure accuracy of the 
record, statements can also be submitted in writing. Both oral and 
written statements will become part of the public record on this study, 
with equal weight given to each.
    In the interest of available time, speakers will be asked to limit 
their comments to five minutes. If longer statements are to be 
presented, they should be summarized at the public hearing and 
submitted in writing either at the hearing or by mailing to the point 
of contact identified below.

DATES: The public hearing will be held on May 9, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. 
Written comments on the DEIS must be postmarked by May 30, 1995.

written comments for inclusion into the official record should be 
forwarded to Gary Kasaoka (Code 235), Pacific Division, Naval

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Pursuant to Section 102(2)(c) of the 
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as implemented by the 
Council on Environmental Quality regulations (40 CFR Parts 1500-1508), 
the U.S. Pacific Command has prepared and filed with the U.S. 
Environmental Protection Agency the above referenced Draft 
Environmental Impact Statement.
