AGENCY: Department of Energy.

ACTION: Notice of open meeting.

SUMMARY: Pursuant to the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee 
Act (Public Law 92-463, 86 Stat. 770), notice is hereby given of the 
following meeting: High Energy Physics Advisory Panel (HEPAP).

DATES: March 2, 1995; 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; March 3, 1995; 9:00 a.m.-
4:00 p.m.

    Purpose of Panel: To provide advice and guidance on a continuing 
basis with respect to the high energy physics research program.

Tentative Agenda

Thursday, March 2, 1995 and Friday, March 3, 1995:
--Discussion of Department of Energy (DOE) High Energy Physics Programs 
and Budget
--Discussion of National Science Foundation (NSF) Elementary Particle 
Physics Programs and Budget
--Discussion of Status of Large Hadron Collider (LHC) Project and 
Possible U.S. Participation in LHC
--Discussion of Impact of FY 1996 Budget Request on High Energy Physics 
Laboratories and their Programs
--Reports on and Discussions of Topics of General Interest in High 
Energy Physics
--Public Comment (10 minute rule)

    Public Participation: The meeting is open to the public. The 
Chairperson of the Panel is empowered to conduct the meeting in a 
fashion that will, in his judgment, facilitate the orderly conduct of 
business. Any member of the public who wishes to make oral statements 
pertaining to agenda items should contact the Executive Secretary at 
the address or telephone number listed above. Requests must be received 
at least 5 days prior to the meeting and reasonable provision will be 
made to include the presentation on the agenda.
    Minutes: Available for public review and copying at the Public 
Reading Room, Room 1E-190, Forrestal Building, 1000 Independence 
Avenue, S.W., Washington, DC between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday 
through Friday, except Federal holidays.
