AGENCY: Forest Service, USDA.
ACTION: Revision of notice of intent to prepare an environmental impact
statement.

SUMMARY: On March 2, 1992, the USDA, Forest Service and the Washington
State Department of Ecology, as joint lead agencies, issued a notice of
intent (NOI) to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for a
proposal to develop a mine for precious mineral extraction on Buckhorn
Mountain in the Federal Register (57 FR 7362). On April 15, 1993, and
March 11, 1994 the USDA, Forest Service and the Washington State
Department of Ecology, as joint lead agencies, issued revisions to the
notice of intent (NOI) to prepare an environmental impact statement
(EIS) in the Federal Register (58 FR 19646 and 59 FR 11576). The
purpose of this revised notice of intent is to inform the interested
publics, of a revised release date for the draft and final EIS. The
draft environmental impact statement (EIS) is expected to be completed
and available for public review in March, 1995. The final EIS is
expected to be available in September, 1995.
