There is no longer a need for the LPDR since the NRC approved an amendment to the Agreement with the State of Illinois under which the State will assume regulatory authority over uranium and thorium mills and mill tailings. The Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety will be the State agency responsible for administering the regulatory program.
