LEGAL SERVICES CORPORATION
 

Grant Award for Legal Services State Support in the Republic of 
the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic 
of Palau, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands 
AGENCY: Legal Services Corporation.

ACTION: Announcement of intention to award grants.

SUMMARY: The Legal Services Corporation hereby announces its intention 
to award a one-time, nonrecurring grant to the Micronesian Legal 
Services Corporation for the purpose of planning for state support 
activities in its service area. The Corporation plans to award a grant 
in the amount of $20,000.
    The one-time grant will be awarded pursuant to authority conferred 
by section 1006(a)(3) of the Legal Services Corporation Act of 1974, as 
amended. This public notice is issued with a request for comments and 
recommendations within a period of thirty (30) days from the date of 
publication of this notice. The grant award will not become effective 
and grant funds will not be distributed prior to expiration of this 30-
day period.

DATES: All comments and recommendations must be received by 5 pm on or 
before August 15, 1994.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Legal Services Corporation is the 
national organization charged with administering federal funds provided 
for civil legal service to the poor. The program is a recipient of LSC 
funding for providing direct legal services to their service area. The 
amount of the 1994 state support planning grant is consistent with the 
1994 LSC Appropriations Act.
