Secretary's Procedures and Criteria for Recognition of 
Accrediting Agencies

AGENCY: Department of Education.

ACTION: Notice of proposed rulemaking; correction.

SUMMARY: On January 24, 1994, the Secretary published in the Federal 
Register (59 FR 3578) a notice of proposed rulemaking for the 
Secretary's Procedures and Criteria for Recognition of Accrediting 
Agencies. The Secretary corrects those regulations to incorporate an 
item that was inadvertently omitted in the preamble.
    On page 3590, column three, under ``Paperwork Reduction Act of 
1980'', after paragraph 2, the following paragraph is added:
    Annual public reporting burden for this collection of information 
is estimated to average 47 hours per respondent, including the time for 
reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and 
maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the 
collection of information.
